01Barefoot Beach Preserve
Consistently rated one of the top beaches in the United States, Barefoot Beach Preserve is a protected barrier island with natural dunes, nature trails, and excellent shelling. There are no high-rises, no boardwalks, and very little commercial development. It is about 20 minutes from Vivid Shores.
02Bonita Beach Park
A family-friendly beach with picnic shelters, restrooms, a boardwalk, and rental equipment including jet skis and paddleboards. It is a great option for families with kids and tends to be livelier than Barefoot Beach.
03Lovers Key State Park
Just south of Bonita Springs, Lovers Key is known for its pristine shoreline, hiking and biking trails, and abundant wildlife including dolphins and manatees. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on-site. It is one of the most scenic spots on the entire Gulf Coast.
04Little Hickory Island Beach Park
A quieter, less crowded alternative popular for fishing, sunsets, and solitude. If you want a beach day without the crowds, this is the spot.
05Kayaking the Imperial River
The Imperial River runs through the heart of Bonita Springs and is one of the best paddling spots in Southwest Florida. Guided kayak tours are available, and paddlers commonly spot manatees, herons, ospreys, and other wildlife along the way. The river is roughly 4.5 miles from Vivid Shores.
06Everglades Wonder Gardens
A historic botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary in downtown Bonita Springs. Home to flamingos, exotic birds, and rescued animals, it is a popular destination for families looking for something beyond the beach.
07Boating at Vivid Shores
Vivid Shores offers something most communities in the area do not: over 400 acres of boatable freshwater lakes. Gas-powered boats are permitted, and select homesites include personal boat dock options. Between the community lakes and the Gulf Coast beaches, Vivid Shores residents have water access in every direction.
